Founded in 2017, Axon Driver Solutions is a leading destination for driving simulation. As one of Canada’s first car simulator training centers, Axon has become a hub for motorsport and sim racing enthusiasts. To bring this vision to life, the owner acquired a 12,000-square-foot warehouse in Burnaby, transforming it into a cutting-edge facility featuring state-of-the-art simulators—designed by the Axon team and assembled in-house. The goal was to create a space where people could connect through their passion for motorsports, the thrill of racing, and the pursuit of performance.
Axon’s wishlist for iDesign included dedicated areas for simulator training and assembly, a large conference room, a breakout space, and a back office for the support staff. Creating an engaging and cool space out of a blank warehouse was a challenge, and iDesign drew inspiration from the logo and intensity of the racing experience. The team combined the industrial concrete look with muted blues and impressions of yellow, and played with the familiar linear and geometric motifs of the road. The final result evokes the experience of racing down the freeway on a gray Vancouver day – the adrenaline of those moments when speed, focus, and performance is everything... and the rest is a blur.
